Andrographolide, a ladan diterpenoid extract from the Andrographis paniculata herb.Andrographis paniculata herb is widely cultivated in Southern and Southeastern Asia, where it is used to treat infections and some diseases, often being used before antibiotics were created. Mostly the leaves and roots were used for medicinal purposes. Andrographolide is a natural terpenoid, extracted from the stems and leaves of Andrographis paniculata, and is a very bitter substance,has a wide range of applications in Biopharmaceuticals and is one of the most commonly used medicinal plants in the traditional Unani and Ayurvedic pharmaceutical systems.
